What is Wished-For.com?
We (Lois & Dale Turner) were thinking about our lives together one day when I (Dale) said “Why don’t we create a website and share with others some of the things we have wished for and loved over the 60 years of our marriage and ministry together? Lois had been a schoolteacher since 1963 and I (Dale) had been a pastor since 1963. We were married on July 7, 1963, when we began our journey together.
We began to think of the kinds of things the average family needs and wishes for from the first year of marriage to the later years of life. We began to think of BABY THINGS like STROLLERS, HIGHCHAIRS, and CRIBS. we talked about ROCKING CHAIRS for the nursery FRONT PORCH ROCKERS and padded SWIVEL ROCKERS, like ‘The Old Man Chair listed on our website. We thought of COOKING, HOBBIES, TOOLS, etc. – all the things’ families need and use over a lifetime. Before we knew it, we had listed 15 different categories of things every family wishes for and uses. Here are the categories of things we ended up with.
Arts And Crafts, Baby Things, Cooking, Electronics, Fishing, Games for Families, Hobbies, Lawn Care, Photography, Rocking Chairs, Self Help, Spiritual Resources, Tools, Video Games, and Woodworking.
Before we got done, we had listed 90 products that we all wish for and use from the cradle to the grave. We saw that these products come under 15 categories or niches. So, then we decided to write a mission statement. The mission statement came out like this:
“To connect families with the things in life that bring true happiness! “
And so, our website was born!
We learned about Affiliate Marketing and decided to become Amazon Associates. And so https://Wished-For.Com was born.

Who is Dale R. Turner?
Dale was born in Akron, Ohio on April 11, 1942, and raised on the North side and graduated from North High School in 1960. He attended Malone College in Canton, Ohio and graduated in 1964 with a B.A. in Religion with minors in Greek and Philosophy. He went from there to Seminary studying at Evangelical Theological Seminary in Naperville, Illinois. (Now Garret Theological Seminary). He also studied at Wynona Lake School of Theology under Dr. Carl F. H. Henry, and Dr. Meryl Westphal (PhD. Yale). He graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky in 1968 with a M.Div. He has done some D.Min studies at Methodist Theological School in Ohio, some MBA courses at Ashland University, Ohio, and some graduate work in group process and analysis at Kent State University. He was licensed as an E.U.B. pastor in 1963 and ordained as a United Methodist pastor in 1968. He has served as a Lead Pastor, District Superintendent, and Visitation Pastor during the years since 1963. Dale loves woodworking, fishing with his children and grandchildren, playing in chess tournaments, producing watercolor paintings and playing all kinds of table games with family and friends.
Who is Lois R. Turner?
Lois R. Turner (Schwarzwalder) was born on September 3, 1941, in Wooster, Ohio. She grew up on a nearby farm and graduated from Big Prairie High School in 1959. She attended Taylor University and then graduated from Malone College with a B.S. degree in music education in 1963. She and Dale were married on July 7, 1963, when Dale began his ministry as an E.U.B./United Methodist Pastor. Lois began her career as an elementary music teacher in East Liverpool, Ohio that same year. In 1964 she and Dale moved to Deedsville Indiana where they continued their careers as teacher and pastor while Dale completed his seminary work. Lois loves to play the piano and has given piano lessons from time to time. Lois loves people and is a “hugger”. She especially loves children. Later in her career she became a special education teacher and a reading recovery teacher with a heart for helping special needs children. Lois has a ministry of nurture and often sends notes to people and has supportive telephone conversations with people in need.
